Why exercising on holiday will leave your friends and family feeling jealous at your incredible results.
True story,
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at the gym, in the free weights section. Dumbbells sitting on my knees as I get ready to lean back and do another set of chest press. All of a sudden, I spot Andre.
Andre, at the time was preparing for a body building competition. He was tall, with a back as broad as my wing span and German. For a big guy, he had a graceful walk about him and knew how to carry himself with confidence after years of fitness competitions. As you can imagine, he quickly drew the attention of 90% of the people in the gym, but not for the reason you may think.
Stumbling behind, and carrying a huge spray painting machine was his tiny girlfriend, Danielle. I couldn’t take my eyes of the machine as it was being wheeled over to where Andre was standing. For the next 20 minutes, I bared witness to something I could only compare to be what would happen at the Contemporary Art Museum. Andre would pick up weights, hold a lift position whilst Danielle would spray tan in his definition with the attention to detail that would rival Liam Neeson from Taken.
Why am I sharing this story? Because, you can save yourself time and effort to get the same results as Andre. Taking your workouts outside, on holiday in the sun will naturally boost your tan and definition. Have you ever noticed before that you have got a better tan when you are running or moving around? Perhaps you were working in the garden or playing volleyball on the beach.
Whilst getting a tan is great, the real key to achieving success in your workouts is consistency. Doing your workouts on holiday is like taking out insurance on your health and fitness. You just need to keep up with the payments to insure you have full coverage and can keep on top of the progress you have made.
Here are our top 3 suggestions to make sure you get it done:
- Write out your workout before you go away and commit to doing it first thing in the morning
- Take part in an activity that you enjoy. Swimming, walking or running. Some hotels encourage volleyball, table tennis tournaments amongst guests
- Write yourself a short pep talk. One or two sentences to encourage you to get your head back in the game
